Charles N. Bunn

Charles Bunn passed away at home on August 10, 2021 in Bristol, Connecticut at the age of 88. Charles is survived by his daughters Susan Bunn and her partner Patrick Stanton, Melissa Bunn Balsam and her husband Richard, Katie Bunn and her partner Frank Brooks, his dear grandchildren Jake Balsam and his fiancée Amber Gang, Grace Balsam and her fiancé Jake Westover. He was predeceased by his bride and beloved wife Virginia Maguire Bunn in September 2018.

Charles was born on March 30, 1933 in Bristol, CT to Ruth and Norman Bunn. He spent his childhood working on his family’s farm and as an adult, many years in the construction business which he loved. Charlie built a home next door to his mother on a lovely, well-treed lot. He spent much of his retired years in Maine at “camp” where he consistently burned chicken on the grill and baked delicious beans and made a pretty great coleslaw. He could build anything and he did. Charlie had many friends, enjoyed reading, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a good and kind man who adored his family and loved his Church and his dogs.

Charlie’s family would like to thank Bristol Hospice, especially Allison and Lea. Also many thanks to Maria and our favorite Big Guy. The visiting hour will be Saturday morning, August 21st from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, who has the honor of serving Charles’s family. A Funeral Service be celebrated at 11:30 AM in Burlington Congregational Church, 268 Spielman Hwy, Burlington. Interment will follow in Burlington Center Cemetery.
