Edward “Mack” M. McLaughlin, 84, of Burlington, passed away on Friday September 17, 2021.
Mack was born on May 28, 1937 in Bristol, CT the son of the late Maurice McLaughlin and Lenore Richtmyer.
He is survived by his wife Elaine Grant; his children and their spouses Mark and Brigit Lane, Kelli and Dayle Gallagher, Kim and John Weidow, Diane and Robert Webster, Joseph Caron and Tammy DeVona; his grandchildren Kaitlyn Gallagher, Jalena Webster, Conner Lane, Jack Weidow, Reese Weidow, Michael Swanson and Heather DeVona.
He was predeceased by his wife Jean Remecki and their son Gregory; and his brother Charles McLaughlin.
Mack was the chauffeur that guided over 500 brides through their weddings and enjoyed every minute of it. He was the chauffeur that would get up at any time of night to make sure you got to the airport or cruise ship on time so you could start your vacation.
If you talked to anyone that knew him, they would tell you that he was always a gentleman and “One of the good guys”.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday September 23, 2021 from 6 PM until 8 PM at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Bristol/Forestville.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9 AM from O’Brien Funeral Home to St. Matthew Church, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM, followed by a procession to St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol.
