Joseph J. Massa Sr.

Joseph James Gerard Massa Sr. (Maz to many) who was born May 12th, 1958 died peacefully on Friday June 10th, 2022 with his wife Denise by his side. Jamie grew up in Pleasantville, NY where he found the love of his life Denise Mascolo, who he married on April 7th, 1983. Soon after on August 1st, 1984, they welcomed their first born son, Joseph James Gerard Jr. Less than 6 years later they welcomes their second child, Lauren Massa. No relationship between two people is perfect but Denise and Jamie could write books on how live in a perfectly imperfect marriage. There has never been a more incredible relationship quite like theirs. He was an amazing father, husband and doggy dad to his beloved Bella Nina & Molly Moo. He was a man that gave his gigantic heart to his family above everything else. He was the most loyal, thoughtful, generous, unpredictable, wacky man that left an impression everywhere he went. To say Jamie was a man of many talents would be a gross, inaccurate, and vastly understated description. He was by all counts the one man that anyone and everyone knew, counted on, and trusted. A man with a hard exterior and even softer center, he could fix anything, build everything, and would help anyone. Joseph loved the game of baseball. He very well might have been the most loyal, die hard Yankees fan that has ever lived. To say he will be missed would be an understatement. He cherished his life with his family and will continue to be a major part in everyone’s lives through the many memories he left behind. Jamie was predeceased by his Mother, Leonarda Frappollo, his brother John Massa & sister Rosemarie Massa. He is survived by his wife Denise, children Lauren & Jamie, along with many family and friends.

The visiting hours will be Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 3 to 6 PM at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Avenue, Bristol. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home at 4:30 pm. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
