Scenes – A Billy Joel Experience  (77,485 Views)


Downtown Live at Rockwell Theater presents Scenes – A Billy Joel Experience on Saturday, November 18th, 2023 at 7 PM (Doors open at 6PM)! Formerly known as Cold Spring Harbor, Scenes – A Billy Joel Experience, has been performing throughout New England and beyond since 2013. Their mission from the beginning was to celebrate and recreate the music of Billy Joel to the highest and most authentic standard.

Downtown Live features an ongoing array of curated live entertainment from musical and dance performances, to comedy shows, education and lecture series, children’s series, and more. Interested community members and guests are able to purchase tickets online at www.bristolrec.com and pick a seat of their choice through a newly implemented ticketing platform. Current scheduled powerhouse shows include Celebrating Queen (Sept. 9), The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Oct. 28), Scenes- A Billy Joel Experience (Nov. 18) and Christmas with the Nashville King, Starring John Beardsley (Dec. 16)!

Tickets for the Downtown Live events range in price from $15 to $40 a person depending on the show. Tickets for all Downtown Live performances are available at www.bristolrec.com. The Rockwell Theater is located at the Bristol Arts and Innovation Magnet School at 70 Memorial Boulevard, Bristol, CT 06010. 26th Annual Turkey Shoot Basketball Contest
November 18 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

Join us Saturday, November 18th for the 26th Annual Turkey Shoot Basketball Contest at Chippens Hill Middle School Gymnasium. The event is completely FREE but requires pre-registration. Please sign up online at www.bristolrec.com, in person at our office (51 High Street), or by phone 860-584-6160.

Turkey Shoot is for youth ages 4-13 yrs (and a parent or guardian of his/her choice). Child and Adult will compete in a basketball foul shooting contest for a chance to a $25 gift certificate to purchase a turkey, along with other great door prizes!

Adult/Child teams will start at different times and will be divided as follows:

9:30 AM – Ages 4 & 5
10:00 AM – Ages 6 & 7
10:30 AM – Ages 8 & 9
11:00 AM – Ages 10 & 11
11:30 AM – Ages 12 & 13

A winner will be awarded in each category.

The Bristol Police Department (BPD) and the Department of Parks, Recreation, Youth and Community Services (BPRYCS) are asking for your help to “Stuff-A-Cruiser” full of new and unwrapped toys for Bristol youth up to 18 years of age. All donations benefit local families in need of assistance this holiday season.

Staff from BPD and BPRYCS will be stationed outside of Walmart on Saturday, November 18th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM collecting new and unused toys to benefit the Holiday Gift Giving Program. Participating donors and community members are invited to stop by to mail a letter to the North Pole and help spread holiday cheer!
