The best of the best will be featured here, including legendary coaches Jim Calhoun and Geno Auriemma and superstars such as Art Quimby, Walt Dropo, Diana Taurasi, Rebecca Lobo, Richard Hamilton, Sue Bird, Ray Allen, Kemba Walker, Emeka Okafor and Maya Moore. Funny Women of A Certain Age – Downtown Live at The Rockwell Theater

Sat Mar 9, 2024 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM EST

Funny Women of A Certain Age – Downtown Live at The Rockwell Theater

FUNNY WOMEN OF A CERTAIN AGE® is a show straight from the unfettered mouths and uninhibited minds of the funniest, most daring, most experienced people in comedy: the women that have seen it all. Trust us, they have A LOT to say and they say it hysterically.

Known as the comic's comic, Funny Women of a Certain Age® creator Carole Montgomery has already brought to the stage some of the most respected names in comedy including FRAN DRESCHER, LUENELL, JANEANE GAROFALO, CAROLINE RHEA, THEA VIDALE, KERRI LOUISE, CAROL LEIFER, JULIA SCOTTI, TAMMY PESCATELLI, FELICIA MICHAELS, CATHY LADMAN, VANESSA HOLLINGSHEAD, WENDY LIEBMAN, MONIQUE MARVEZ, LEIGHANN LORD and many more. Carole's idea of showcasing a rotating crew of older female comedians became a Showtime special that made history and broke rating records! It was the networks highest rater premiere of a stand up show for 2019. And now they are touring!

The women who appear on WOACA are all funny, vibrant and brilliant, they just happen to be of a certain age. These women paved the way for the female comics you see performing today and prove that indeed #funnynevergetsold®

Readings From the Diary of Candace Roberts

Readings From the Diary of Candace Roberts
Saturday, March 16 @ 6:30 PM
Bristol Public Library
5 High Street, Bristol, CT

Join us for a selection of readings from the remarkable diary of Bristol‘s own Candace Roberts that record her daily life, social experiences and pioneering career as a tin painter and japanner in the local clock and watch industry in the early 1800s.
Bristol native Candace Roberts (1785-1806) began keeping a diary in 1800 at age 15.
Candace is known to have been a skilled dial painter and a pioneer japanner and ornamentor of tin ware, who painted watch dials for her father, brother, and Eli Terry, among others. Her poetry and writing style are remarkably engaging as well. In her brief life she seems to have enjoyed a great deal of opportunity and social freedom-challenging our preconceived notions about the lives of the women of her time.

St. Paul Performing Arts Will Perform Shrek The Musical

St. Paul stage will transform into a mythical landscape in the Tony Award-winning Shrek
The Musical. You may think you know all there is to know about that grumpy, green ogre and his sidekicks, but prepare to be surprised. More songs, more dancing, moving set pieces, intricate costumes – Shrek The Musical offers so much theatricality.

Immerse yourself in a world of characters you know and love, on a massive scale that seems to
bring all the fairytales to life at once! This modern take on the classic tale of an underdog who
learns the meaning of friendship, inner beauty, and that everything has layers is the perfect
stage adventure for any age. “Shrek The Musical” teaches us that everyone can find love, beauty isn’t always pretty, and that nothing is handed to you,” says director Mark Mazzarella. This show presents a challenge to inhabit, physicalize, and explore these magical characters as an actor on stage.”
Join St. Paul Performing Arts on Friday, March 22 at 7:00pm, Saturday, March 23 at 7:00pm and Sunday, March 24 at 2:00pm for three performances of Shrek The Musical at St. Paul Catholic High School’s Performing Arts Theater.
Purchase tickets today online at www.spchs.com or they can be purchased on a first-come, first-served basis at the door. All seats are reserved seating $20 for general public, $15 for students (18 and under), and $15 for seniors (65+).
